BEAST ACADEMY
The Art of Problem Solving is known for having developed a wide range of educational materials for outstanding K-12 math students. So it was only a matter of time before they created a comprehensive and rigorous curriculum for children called Beast Academy. This wildly entertaining curriculum for aspiring math beasts in grades 2-5 was offered in comic book style print. And with these textbooks used by thousands, the brand was ready to go digital and create a new game and mobile application. The mobile game would be crafted specifically for iPad and provide a customized learning experience for every child.
Management wanted the Beast Academy brand to be bold and innovative. The game design would look nothing like the corporate website. In addition, the new mobile app would adjust to student performance to deliver appropriate problems and lessons, and would provide tools for parents and teachers to check their child's progress. The caveat was that we needed to incorporate heavy illustration and all the popular Beast characters from the well-known textbooks. So our digital agency had to pull in a wide range of user experience and design specialists to work creatively. The goal was to create a gaming experience that was both highly engaging and effective for a target audience known for having lightning fast attention spans. Our unique game design would make this mobile app look unlike anything in the market place!
